Material, finish, and fit are therefore not mere details. They partly determine how comfortable the jewelry is to wear and how smoothly a piercing can heal.

At All Perfectly Pierced, we work with implant-grade titanium, niobium, and suitable solid 14k and 18k gold. We look beyond general terms like hypoallergenic, surgical steel, or simply titanium. These descriptions don't always say enough about the exact composition and quality.

For titanium, we choose demonstrable implant quality, such as ASTM F136. This is especially a good choice for sensitive skin or nickel sensitivity. Solid 14k and 18k gold can also be suitable, provided the gold alloy is nickel and cadmium-free. We do not use plated jewelry or sterling silver in a fresh piercing. A coating can wear off, and silver can tarnish, oxidize, and react with the healing piercing channel.

But good material alone is not enough. We also pay attention to a mirror-smooth finish, a reliable threadless or internally threaded backing system, and a length and thickness that suit your anatomy. A piece of jewelry that is too short, too heavy, or roughly finished can cause unnecessary irritation, even with a good base material.

That's why we don't just look at the visible front of a piece of jewelry. The bar, the clasp, the alloy, the weight, and the fit must also be correct. You might not see it as clearly on Instagram, but you will feel it with daily wear.
